Turkish forces detain 99 illegal migrants of several nationalities in Aegean region

As many as 88 illegal migrants detained in Turkey's Aegean region, security sources emphasized on Sunday.

A set of 22 Afghan, 17 Iraqi and five Syrian nationals in a rubber boat were detained by gendarmerie forces off Cesme, Izmir, stated a security source, talking on condition of secrecy due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

In a separate operation in the Aegean Aydin province, a group of 44 migrants in a rubber boat were captured off the Menderes Delta by the Turkish Coast Guard.

All the detained migrants were later referred to provincial migration departments.
