International demand for Ukrainian labour force up 40%

Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic are traditionally the most popular destinations for Ukrainian migrant workers.

The demand for Ukrainian workers abroad has grown by 40% in the past six months.

"Poland, Germany, and the Czech Republic are traditionally the most popular destinations for Ukrainian migrant workers," as reported by TSN.ua.

According to the information published by the open data platform, foreign employers have posted a total of over 9,500 vacancies.

Jobs in highest demand, per country

Neighbouring Poland in 2020 most frequently searched for packers, tailors, and construction workers.
Homecare workers, tillers, and plumbers are in the greatest demand in Germany.

The Czech Republic most often seeks to employ welders, electricians, and drivers.

Background

A significant increase in the number of labor migrants returning home from abroad for the New Year's holidays is being observed at the border. Traditionally, most of them cross in in Lviv and Zakarpattia regions.

According to official data, 61,900 Ukrainians moved to work abroad throughout 2020. Most of the Ukrainian nationals officially working abroad are employed in Poland, as well as Cyprus and Liberia.
