560 Nigerian immigrants rerun home from Libya

560 Nigerian immigrants arrived in Port Harcourt on Saturday, bringing to 1,590, the number of Nigerians repatriated from Libya since January 7.

More than 6,000 immigrants from Nigeria were deported from Libya in 2017.

The returnees, who were repatriated as part of the International Organisation for Migration’s program, arrived at the airport on board Max Air with 540 adults and 20 infants on board.

Libya has been the number one favourite destination for African and Sub-Saharan nationals since 2012 in order to reach Europe.
