About Migration Satellite

EyeMigration Satellite was founded in 2010 by independent researcher Karolina E Stempien. The site itself is published, edited, and maintained solely by her.

Karolina wanted to create a website with social ambition, inspiring, provoking discussions and debates on all aspects of human migration. Using this platform, she wants to explain and defend the idea of free unrestricted human migration without aggression, oppression, or centralised authority.

The primary purpose of this website is to be a research hub for news and events relating to human migration broadly construed and in the context of international affairs. This includes, but is not limited to, freedom of movement, open borders and mobilities research. The secondary purpose is to post announcements and content related to my own research on migration and human mobility. This includes research in politics, philosophy and the sciences.

But most importantly, Migration Satellite is about people: human beings whose lives happen to cut across national borders, and the impact that their movement has on their new countries and their old ones.
