Tajikistan asks Russia to ease rules for Tajik labor migrants

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon during the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on May 31 asked the Russian side to ease rules of stay on the territory of Russian Federation for Tajik labor migrants, the President's press service said.

About million citizens of Tajikistan are annually leave the country to work in Russia and difficult employment conditions, tough migration rules and groundless detentions of law enforcement officers do not frighten the Tajik migrants, as they need to feed their families on homeland, according to the head of state.

The two discussed improvement of social security of Tajik migrants at the meeting.

Medvedev arrived in Dushanbe on May 30 for participation in the session of Council of Heads of the CIS Governments.
