128 refugees transferred from Libya to Niger

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), has confirmed the transfer of 128 refugees in total holding citizenship from Sudan, Somalia and Eritrea, all of whom were moved from Libya to Niger on the first evacuation trip so far this year.

The UNHCR stated that the said refugees will be hosted temporarily at its transit center in Niamey, until the completion of their documentation and technical procedures to reach a permanent solution for the refugees.

The UNHCR went on to say that this group included refugees who were settled in war zones in Libya, and others were recently released from shelters in the country.
