Spain and the Dominican Republic agree to a mobility agreement for workers

Dominican Republic and the Kingdom of Spain signed a Letter of Intent to start a pilot project aimed at promoting circular labour migration in a safe manner, promote cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Labour and president of the Ibero-American Social Security Organization (OISS), Luis Miguel De Camps García, and the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration of Spain, José Luis Escrivá.

The agreement was initialled at the celebration of the XVII Ibero-American Congress of Social Security 2021 , held from December 13 to 16, 2021, and as part of the official visit to Spain made last November by Minister De Camps, to participate in the 45th Meeting of the Technical Commission of the International Labor Organization (ILO).

Likewise, it proposes that it aims to strengthen and favour relations between nations in the midst of the new global reality in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, with the aim of laying the foundations for collaboration n of commitment for circular labour migration between both nations.
